Australia-based JANA Investment Advisers (JANA) has awarded a A$385 million global equity mandate to American asset manager Causeway Capital Management.

Established in 2001, Causeway Capital has total funds under management of about US$30 billion and offers a quant-based emerging markets strategy.

The mandate has been awarded to Causeway Capital’s developed markets large-cap strategy Global Value Equity.

Causeway is expecting that companies derive their value from the contribution of yield and profitable re-investment back into the company.

Sarah Ketterer, portfolio manager and founding member of Causeway Capital, said: "We are pleased that JANA, the largest asset consultant in Australia in terms of assets under advice, has included our value-oriented global equity investment strategy into its Implemented Consulting platform which is available to its clients."

With total assets under management of $2.5 billion, currently Causeway has six institutional clients in Australia.
