J. Stuart Francis is set to join Evercore’s investment banking business as the senior managing director in its technology group.
He will resume his role from August, and would be based in Menlo Park, California.

Francis has worked with Barclays since 2008 as its vice chairman of investment banking and chairman of the global technology group.
Before that, he was with Lehman Brothers as its vice chairman and then later, chairman for the Lehman Brothers Global Technology Group, since 2003. He also served as the head of the global technology group at Lehman Brothers from 1991 to 2003.
Francis’ recent activities included advisory services to Qualcomm on the sale of Omnitracs division to Vista Equity Partners and sale of BWA division to Bharti. He also advised Google on the sale of its Motorola cable TV set top box business to Arris.
He further served as joint book runner for Facebook on its $16bn IPO, its $4bn equity follow-on offering, and $6.5bn credit facility.
