HSBC Global Asset Management has named Pedro Bastos as new CEO of Hong Kong and regional head of Asia Pacific effective 1 June 2014, replacing Joanna Munro.
In his new role, Bastos will report to Sridhar Chandrasekharan, global chief executive, HSBC Global Asset Management and locally to Kevin Martin, regional head of retail banking and wealth management, Asia-Pacific.

Additionally, Munro will move to London to assume a new role with HSBC as global head of fiduciary governance, subject to regulatory approval.
Based in UK, Munro will report to Chandrasekharan and will be a member of the global executive committee.
Bastos currently serves as CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management Brazil and regional head of Latin America. Bastos, who joined HSBC Brazil in 2006, has more than 25 years of financial experience. He has previously worked at Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association.
At the same time, Alcindo Canto, current head of distribution for HSBC Global Asset Management Brazil, will take over as CEO of the Brazilian business.
