HSBC has appointed Martin Haythorne and Che Ning Liu as co-heads of banking for Asia Pacific, replacing Russell Julius, who is relocating to London.
Martin Haythorne and Che Ning Liu will formally join the bank on 1 September 2014 and manage the bank’s relationships with clients in the region.

Both new executives will report to Robin Phillips, global head of banking, and Gordon French, head of global banking and markets in Asia Pacific.
Haythorne, who is presently working as HSBC deputy global head of banking and global head of credit and lending, will relocate from London to Hong Kong, where as Liu, head of banking for Greater China, will remain in Hong Kong.
Liu joined HSBC in 2009 from Morgan Stanley and developed the UK bank’s presence in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. Liu will also join the banking strategy committee.
Phillips moved from Hong Kong to London last July as part of a global reorganization and the new team supervised by Phillips globally, will focus on providing the complete assortment of corporate finance and advisory products to clients.
