BNY Mellon Asset Management has named Fergus McCarthy as new head of advisory slaes, replacing Scott Goodsir, effective July 2014.

McCarthy move follows the firm’s restructure its management team following the departure of Scott Goodsir.

Goodsir has left BNY Mellon to join Skandia as head of UK distribution. Goodsir will be replaced head of EMEA distribution Matt Oomen.

McCarthy previously workred as head of UK wholesale at BNY Mellon. Priior to this, has served as a sales director covering strategic partnerships at Investec for two years nad also worked in a sales role at Martin Currie.

McCarthy also worked at AXA Investment Managers initially as head of broker support and then as retail marketing manager.

A spokesman for BNY Mellon said: "Once Fergus has started his new role and made contact with clients, BNY Mellon will announce further news on the realignment of its sales business which will have the needs of clients at the core of its structure."
