Mark Rzepczynski, the former president and CIO alternative asset manager John W. Henry & Company, is planning to launch a new hedge fund firm.

Known as AMPHI Capital Management, the new hedge fund firm invests across all asset classes and liquid markets using rules-based decision-making processes, according to FIN alternatives.

Additionally, Rzepczynski has joined forces with Perry Kaufman, who formerly worked at Graham Capital Management, and Timothy Tanko, former president of 66 Capital and a partner at Anchor Asset Management to launch the new firm.

The firm currently has has offices in Chicago and Boston.

Rzepczynski has served as chief investment officer of John W. Henry & Co prior to leaving the firm in January 2007.

"Given the type of models employed, we expect to be correlated to traditional assets in up markets but have a low to negative correlation in down markets. The program will perform better in volatile and uncertain environments," according to the firm’s marketing documents.
