Former Goldman Sachs and Noble Group executive are planning to launch their hedge fund firm, Guard Capital Management, in Hong Kong next month.

The newly established Guard Capital Management will be managed by Leland Lim, who acted as the co-head of macro trading for Asia Pacific ex-Japan at Goldman Sachs, and Allan Bedwick, the former head of macro trading in Asia for Noble Group, according to Reuters.

According to the publication, the firm has hired Matthew Edwards from Grosvenor Capital Management as head of business development.

Additionally Freda Chan, the former chief operating officer of fund of hedge funds Vision Investment, has joined the firm as the head of operations.

Former BofA Merrill Lynch strategist Bin Gao and former Nomura Holdings and BlueCrest Capital Management employee Sean Giefing are also joining hedge fund firm.

Guard Capital is waiting for a license in Hong Kong to start operations.
