American investment bank Moelis & Company has established its new private funds advisory business to expand its financial sponsors’ capabilities.

The business will provide capital raising, secondary and other independent advisory services to private fund sponsors and limited partners.

Moelis & Company chairman and CEO Ken Moelis said that the launch of the private funds advisory business is an important next step in Moelis & Company’s growth strategy.

The bank has named Dave Brown, Patrick Dunleavy, Christopher Kirsten and Zaid Abdul-Aleem as the managing directors for the new business.

"These Managing Directors bring tremendous fundraising experience and expertise to our Firm. We are excited about the market opportunity for fundraising and look forward to working with them to provide innovative capital raising services to financial sponsor clients and enhancing our ability to serve institutional investors," added Moelis.

Prior to joining Moelis, Brown, Dunleavy, Kirsten and Abdul-Aleem have worked at Greenhill’s Private and Real Estate Capital Advisory Groups.
