British asset manager Schroders has hired Bogdan Popovici as a fund manager within its global fixed income team.
Bogdan joins from Wellington Management, where he had been a macro portfolio manager on global rates and FX since 2011.

The manager’s prior experience includes a fund management role within the alpha strategies division at BlackRock where he managed a number of fixed income portfolios totalling US$25 billion.
Bob Jolly, head of global macro at Schroders, said: "Bogdan is a highly skilled fixed income and currency fund manager and we are pleased that he has joined us to specialise in managing our global multi-sector funds, along with the rest of the team."
Schroders has made several appointments to its fixed income desk over the last year. In May 2012 the group hired UBS Asset Management’s head of UK fixed income Alix Stewart and Konstantin Leidman.
In December it announced it would buy US-based fixed income manager STW, which completed this year.
