PIMCO, a global investment management firm, has appointed Joshua Anderson, a managing director and portfolio manager, to lead the firm’s European Structured Product Group in London.

As part of this appointment, Mr. Anderson, who has been based in PIMCO’s Newport Beach office since joining the firm in 2003, will continue to oversee PIMCO’s global structured credit investments but will relocate to London and begin his new role September 8.

In addition, PIMCO has hired Adam Doran, Shrey Shah, Steffen Kluners, Rudiger Holfeld and Véronique Ménard to join its real estate team as part of the continued expansion of the firm’s Alternatives investing platform, globally. Mr. Kluners and Mr. Doran, who are portfolio managers, and Mr. Holfeld and Ms. Ménard, who are structuring and finance experts, have all started at PIMCO in their new roles. Mr. Shah, also a portfolio manager, will join later this month.

Globally, PIMCO’s alternatives offerings span a range of strategies with more than 100 investment professionals overseeing hedge fund and opportunistic/distressed strategies, including global macro, credit relative value, multi-asset volatility, and distressed mortgage, real estate and corporate credit opportunities.

As of July 31, 2014, PIMCO managed approximately $25 billion in alternative strategies worldwide.
