The firm is planning to launch a trio of OEIC portfolios for Hayes, subject to regulatory approval, targeting returns in excess of either cash or inflation.

Hayes will report to Brent Smith, CIO of Franklin Templeton Multi-Asset Strategies, a division which already runs around US$29 billion in multi-asset portfolios globally.
Hayes joins Franklin Templeton from Pacific Real Estate Capital Partners, where he developed and co-managed the Liquid Property fund, the first UCITS multi-asset property vehicle to combine property swaps and investment in REITs, equity and mortgage-backed securities.
Previously, Hayes was a founding partner at Armstrong Investment Managers, and has also worked as portfolio manager on Insight Investment’s Diversified Target Return fund. His other previous multi-asset roles include spells at UBS Wealth Management and Abbey National Wealth Management.
