Zedra, a Guernsey-based trust and wealth management firm, has named John Hunter as its new director for business development.

Hunter, who has 30 years of experience in the finance industry working with high net worth individuals and their families and advisors, will be travelling to London, the Americas as well as Eastern Europe in his new capacity.

He most recently served as a private client director at the Royal Bank of Canada’s Guernsey unit. Earlier, he also worked at Coutts & Co and Bank of Bermuda in the role of European head of business development and executive director.

The ZEDRA name launched in Guernsey earlier in 2016 following family-owned ZEDRA’s purchase of Barclay’s trust and fiduciary unit. The company has presence in 10 international locations currently, including Guernsey. Recently, Zedra has made significant investment to grow its business that include the acquisition of Azure Trust Jersey in April 2016 and launch of an office in Hong Kong.
