Law firm Withers has added eight associates to its partnership across five of its 10 global offices and in different practice areas.

The firm’s London office has seen the most promotions, with three new partners including Kate Landells, who joins the firm’s family law team, Stephen Richards in the contentious trusts and succession team and Ceri Vokes in funds, investment, trust and tax.

The firm’s newest office in Singapore saw two associates made up including Fernando Gandioli in the tax and estate planning team and Philip Munro in funds, investment and business tax.

The firm’s Hong Kong, New York and New Haven took one apiece including Chi-Yu Liang has been promoted in the tax and estate planning team in New York. Tax lawyer Shannon Smith Retzke made up in New Haven and Stacey Devoy in family law team in Hong Kong.

The appointments bring the firm’s total number of partners to 112 up from 107 in 2011/12.

The international law firm also named Ivan Sacks as its new global chairman, replacing Anthony Indaimo.

Sacks who joined Withers as a partner in 2003, was previously the US Regional Senior Partner and managing director of the firm’s New York office. He is a private client lawyer and trusted advisor to international and domestic families of significant wealth.
