Wilmington Trust, a wholly owned subsidiary of M&T Bank, has appointed John Barrett as the new managing director and senior private client advisor for its office in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Barrett will be tasked with offering comprehensive wealth management advice to high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, business owners, foundations as well as endowments.
In the new role, Barrett will focus on clients in Connecticut, Westchester County, and New York City.
Barrett most recently held the position of private client advisor at U.S. Trust in New York.
In his 20-year long financial career, Barrett previously held roles at TD Bank Wealth Management and JP Morgan Chase Private Bank, and served as managing director at First Republic Bank.
