American wealth advisory firm Wilmington Trust has appointed William LaFond as head of its family wealth division.

He will oversee the delivery of advice and services for the firm’s largest and most prominent client families.

LaFond joined Wilmington Trust in 2004. Most recently, he served as the regional president for Wealth Advisory for the Greater Washington, D.C. and Central Virginia regions.

Previously, LaFond served as head of business development for Wilmington Trust’s family wealth division.

He has nearly 20 years of experience advising clients on investment management, trust and estate planning, risk management, business succession, and retirement planning issues and insights.
