UK-based Weatherbys Private Bank has appointed John Butters as its new chief investment officer (CIO).
In the new role, Butters will be responsible for the development of Weatherbys’ investment proposition. He will report to the deputy head of private banking Quentin Marshall.

Butters, who has investing experience across different asset classes and of advising charities and high-net-worth families on portfolio construction, started his career at the Sand Aire multi-family office.
At Sand Aire, he was responsible for overseeing £400m of client portfolios and various open-ended investment company funds.
He previously served as head of investment at Aspinalls Family Office, and before that, worked as a strategist at a specialist UK asset manager.
