Waverton Investment Management has hired former Kames Capital head Andrew Fleming as its new CEO.

In the new role, Fleming will replace Hugh Grootenhuis, who will step down from his position after six years. He will be tasked with managing Waverton’s development and expansion of the firm’s investment platform.
Fleming is set to assume the new capacity on 1 July, subject to regulatory approval.
Fleming most recently served as chief executive of Cumulus Group. He started his career at Gartmore Investment Management, where he held various investment and management roles including running their Tokyo office, and equities head.
After 14 years at Gartmore, he served at ABN AMRO Asset Management as chief investment officer and global head of portfolio management. From 2005 to 2013, he served in the role of CEO of Kames Capital.
