Walpole, the non -profit organisation representing the British luxury industry, has appointed Michael Morley, CEO of Coutts & Co, to its board of directors.
Morley joined Coutts in June 2009, as chief executive of Coutts & Co and as a director of Adam & Company.

In September 2010, he also became chairman of Royal Bank of Scotland International, the offshore banking business of the Group in the Crown Dependencies of Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man and the Crown Territory of Gibraltar.
Regarding his new appointment, Morley siad: "The work Walpole has done in harnessing British talent and creating a strong community within the luxury industry cannot be underestimated. I look forward to building on my relationship with Walpole and helping them to continue to drive the agenda forward for the luxury sector in the UK and on an international scale."
Morley has 30 years of experience in financial services, which includes eight years at Merrill Lynch as managing director for UK private banking and director of private wealth services for Europe and the Middle East.
From 2002-2007, he also headed the international private banking arm at Barclays Wealth and was the CEO of Barclays Switzerland.
