Voya Investment Management, the asset management arm of Voya Financial, has expanded its fixed income team by appointing Dominique Bütikofer as new head of emerging markets (EM).

In his new role, Bütikofer will be responsible for directing the investment strategy for EM, including sovereign and corporate debt, macro analysis, country research, sovereign risk, currencies, local rates and asset allocation across sub asset-classes.

Bütikofer will report to Matt Toms, head of public fixed income.

Bütikofer joined Voya from Union Bancaire Privee (UBP Investment Management) in Zurich where he served as head of emerging markets fixed income for macro, sovereign and currencies.

Prior to this, he worked as senior fund manager and head of emerging markets fixed income at Julius Baer Asset Management in Zurich from 1998-2005. He also served as a bond trader and portfolio manager at UBS.
