Prior to joining Vontobel, Chen worked with Aviva Investors for nine years, most recently as head of local currency debt, managing over two billion US dollars in emerging-markets local-currency debt and emerging-markets inflation-linked debt.
Hervé Hanoune, head of fixed income at Vontobel Asset Management, said: "One of our strategic priorities is to grow our emerging-markets fixed-income offering by adding high-profile investment experts to the team."
