US private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) has named Blake Shorthouse as new director for its London office in a move to raise money from rich European families.

In his new role, Shorthouse will oversee the firm’s family office business.

He will report to Alex Fletcher, managing director of KKR’s Europe, Middle East and Africa client and partner group alongside Jim Burns, head of KKR’s individual investor business.

Prior to joining KKR, Shorthouse worked with Credit Suisse as head of HNW individuals and families looking to invest in private equity. Before to this, he spent ten years at UBS in a relationship management capacity and also in the private client department at Merrill Lynch.

Meantime, Credit Suisse has hired William Mansfield as head of financial sponsors mergers and acquisitions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
