United Commercial Bank (UCBL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vanguard Asset Management (VAML) in a move to expand future business opportunities between the firms.

The agreement was signed between Muhammed Ali, managing director of UCB, Mohammed Shawkat Jamil, deputy managing director of UCB and Waqar Ahmed Chowdhury, managing director and CEO of Vanguard Asset Management.

The agreement was signed in Dhaka to make the strategic partnership create future business opportunities between UCB and Vanguard Asset Management.

Additionally, Shahidul Islam, additional managing director of UCB, Mirza Mahmud Rafiqur Rahman, additional managing director of UCB, Abdul Muhaimen, additional managing director of UCB, Md. Tariqul Azam, deputy managing director of UCB, A.S.M Arif, SVP & head of structured finance division; Md Rifatur Rahman Joarder, deputy chief executive officer Vanguard Asset Management alongside other senior officials of both the firms were also present in the programme.
