UBS has recently hired two senior executives from US rivals and overhauled its coverage and advisory team in Europe, as part of a revamp of business in Europe.
Severin Brizay has been hired from JP Morgan Chase & Co. to oversee the mergers and acquisitions team of UBS in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, reports Financial News.

Brizay has 14 years of experience on deals at JPMorgan. He will replace James Hartop, who will now focus on client relationships.
Brizay will report to Vereker and build the deals business in the region, working closely with the bank’s global head of M&A, Piero Novelli.
UBS also hired Glenn Rewick from Bank of America Corp. as a managing director in EMEA advisory focusing on health-care deals.
Juan Monte will become head of country coverage, managing teams for Continental Europe and for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa while continuing to head corporate-client solutions in Spain. Diego Pignatelli will continue in his role as chairman of coverage and advisory.

James Hartop, who was handling the UBS’s coverage and advisory business single-handedly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is stepping back from his role to focus on client coverage, as reported by Financial News.
He will be replaced by Juan Monte, previously head of investment banking in Spain at the Swiss bank, who will become head of country coverage.
