UBS has hired Jerry Marcus from Bank of America Merrill Lynch as vice chairman of investment bank in Americas.
Marcus, who will join in September, will focus primarily on bolstering the Swiss bank’s work servicing retailers. He will also be responsible to boost the firm’s retail coverage within corporate client solutions.

Prior to joining UBS, Marcus worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for a decade, most recently serving as head of retail investment banking group.
Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Morgan Stanley as an M&A banker.
Steve Cummings, the head of UBS’s Americas corporate client solutions business, said: "These well-respected, experienced bankers believe in our client-centric platform, and will bring their deep understanding of banking and commitment to developing robust relationships to UBS."
The move follows the recent hire of former Credit Suisse Group banker Neil Carragher as vice chairman of financial institutions group in the Americas.
