UBS has hired Matt Hanning as new head of its Asia Pacific investment-banking, replacing Matthew Grounds.
In his new role, Hanning’s will serve as Asia-Pacific head of corporate client solutions (CCS), which includes capital markets and advisory. He will also join the global UBS investment banking executive committee.

Additionally, Grounds will continue to remain as CEO and country head of UBS Australasia and will report to the firm’s CEO for investment banking, and Asia-Pacific CEO Chi-Won Yoon.
Hanning has joined UBS in 2006 most recently serving as head of the Asian investment banking business alongside David Chin, head of CCS in Asia, excluding Japan and Australia. He has also advised on more than 50 initial public offerings, financings and mergers.
Prior to joining UBS, he worked at Morgan Stanley as head of mergers and acquisitions for the Asia-Pacific region.
