It is understood Buchs will remain at UBS and will take on a new challenge. Engelhardt has previously worked in UBS’s Swiss personal banking space as head of Zurich clients. In his new role he will report to the bank’s head of wealth management investment platform and solutions, Christian Wiesendanger.
Recently UBS’ wealth management president Juerg Zeltner, stepped down to retire after more than 30 years at the bank.
Martin Blessing was then appointed new president of UBS Wealth.
UBS declined to comment on Engelhardt’s appointment.
