UBS, a Swiss global financial services company, has appointed Gary Head as its new global chief of cash equities.

Head, will relocate from Sydney to London and will be replaced in Australia by Chris Williams and Steve Boxall as co-heads of Australasian equities.

Prior to getting promotion, Head was acting as a co-head of the bank’s Australian equities business, and a member of the global cash executive committee.

Additionally, the bank has named Robbie Vanderzeil as the new chairman of capital markets in Australasia, whereas Guy Fowler will become chairman of its corporate client solutions (CCS) division in the country.

Anthony Sweetman will be new head of CCS Australasia, with Greg Peirce and Kelvin Barry will assume the responsibility of joint heads of coverage and advisory for Australasia.

Matt Hanning will take over UBS’s investment banking job in the Asia-Pacific region from Matthew Grounds, who will remain chief executive and country head for UBS Austral¬asia and continue as a member of the APAC group executive committee.
