UBS Wealth Management has appointed Paul Donovan as its new global chief economist. He will coordinate the Chief Investment Office’s regional economic views, take responsibility for its global economic views.
Donovan, who joined UBS in 1992 as an intern in the Fixed Income economics team, has been a managing director since 2004. Most recently he has been acting co-head of UBS Investment Bank Economics.

The Swiss banking giant said that he will also continue to serve as a member of the global investment committee at UBS Wealth Management, as well as continue his wealth management client coverage activities worldwide.
UBS Wealth Management president Juerg Zeltner said: "Paul is an established global thought leader with a strong track record of providing leading insight on global affairs. His reputation extends well beyond UBS and he has been a strong partner to us and our clients in his current role."
UBS Wealth Management global CIO Mark Haefele said: "As an external member of our Global Investment Committee, Paul has already played an important part in shaping UBS Wealth Management’s investment views. In his new position, Paul will be instrumental in guiding the Chief Investment Office’s economic analysis and helping our clients navigate the current financial landscape."
