As country head, Nakamura will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating UBS’s business entities in Japan and represent that market on the firm’s Asia Pacific Executive Committee. He succeeds Toshiharu Kojima who has recently resigned from the firm.

Nakamura is currently serving as the managing director and head of the firm’s Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities (FICC) division in Japan.

In addition to being the Japan country head, Nakamura will also be the CEO and representative director of UBS Securities Japan Co., Ltd.

Prior to joining UBS in 2010, Nakamura spent 23 years with Nomura Group in Tokyo, New York, and London. At Nomura, Nakamura held a series of senior leadership positions in its equity and fixed income divisions, including head of global fixed income. Additionally, he also served as the executive officer on Nomura’s main board.
