UBS has hired Junya Nishiwaki to join UBS Securities Japan, effective 23 August 2013 onwards, as managing director and head of the firm’s corporate client solutions (CCS) division.

As head of CCS, Nishiwaki will oversee all client coverage, M&A advisory, and financing services in Japan. He will report locally to Zenji Nakamura, Japan country head, and functionally to Matthew Grounds, head of CCS Asia Pacific.

Nishiwaki joins UBS from Goldman Sachs where he began his career in 1994, working first in its London office and subsequently in New York and Tokyo. Most recently, he served as head of the general industry group in Goldman Sachs Japan’s Investment Banking division.

Nishiwaki has advised Japan’s top corporations in numerous sectors including consumer, retail, automotive, machinery, and electronics. He is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Cambridge, England.
