Swiss private bank Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has appointed Mathieu Nègre as its new head of emerging market equities.

In the new capacity, Nègre will be tasked with managing UBP’s new Global EM Equities strategy, and will be based in London.

Nègre previously held the role of an emerging European equities fund manager at UBP before joining Aviva Investors.

He served at Aviva Global Investors from 2011, which was followed by a stint at Royal Bank of Canada Global Asset Management as a global emerging markets portfolio manager.

UBP Investment Management CEO Eftychia (La) Fischer remarked: "We have significant regional resources and expertise, as well as a wide range of strategies in EM equities, with investment teams based in London, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Istanbul.
