True Potential Group has announced the appointment of Stuart Dodson as the new CEO for its business unit, True Potential Wealth Management. 

Dodson will assume the role on 5 January 2026, as the business enters its next phase of growth, reported FT Adviser

He brings more than 25 years of experience in regulated financial services to True Potential Wealth Management. 

Serving as Openwork’s group managing director, he oversaw distribution across mortgage, wealth and protection channels. 

At Openwork, Dodson managed more than 4,700 financial advisers and played a key part in securing £120m in private equity investment. 

In his new position, he will be based in Newcastle taking responsibility for leading the development as well as delivery of the wealth management strategy for True Potential Wealth Management.

Dodson said: “The business has seen tremendous growth over recent years and, under Gerry’s leadership, has made clear the market opportunity and the level of ambition.

Before joining Openwork, Dodson served as Newcastle Financial Advisers’ managing director, where he built operational infrastructure. 

Additionally, he held senior leadership roles at Legal & General, leading financial advice teams across various distribution models. 

At the Financial Services Authority, Dodson’s focus was on consumer confidence and financial education in the regulated financial advice sector.
