Triad Advisors has appointed Hugh Tarbutton, Jr. as its new senior vice president of business development.

In the new role, Tarbutton will report to Triad executive vice president and chief strategy officer Nate Stibbs.

Tarbutton, who has an experience of two decades in financial services and wealth management industry, joined Triad after conclusion of a two-year contract at Ameris Bank.

He held the role of director of wealth management at Ameris, responsible for development of the bank’s investment advisory business and management of its brokerage firm.

Before that, he worked at SunTrust, most recently as the senior vice president and manager of wealth solutions group within SunTrust Private Wealth Management.

Previously, he also served as senior vice president – director of products and services at SunTrust Investment Services, and as managing director – manager, products and solutions at Alexander Key Investments that merged with SunTrust Investments to create SunTrust Investment Services.

He also had a stint as vice president and manager of the equity strategy group at Robinson-Humphrey Company.
