Towers Watson has hired Ed Francis as new EMEA head of investment business, replacing Chris Ford.

Prior to joining Towers Watson in 2001, Ed Francis has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently serving as a member of the EMEA Investment leadership team and head of the UK Client Consulting teams.

In addition, Ed held several roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has expertise in consulting to institutional investors on the full range of investment matters.

Meantime, Ford, who had served as head of EMEA investment since 2011, has assumed the role global head of investment last month replacing Carl Hess.

Ford said: "I look forward to working with him on the global leadership team as he takes on the challenges of leading and growing our Investment business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa."

Towers Watson, with assets under advice of more than US$2 trillion and assets under management of around US$60 billion, now has around 800 employees globally.
