Tompkins Financial Advisors, the wealth management unit of Tompkins Financial, has appointed Brian Howard as its new president.

Howard, who has over three decades of leadership experience in the financial services sector, will be based in Ithaca.

“I’m excited to be a part of Tompkins Financial Advisors and will focus on leading the division to achieve the strategic goals of Tompkins Financial, while continuing to build upon on the remarkable Tompkins legacy,” Howard said.

He most recently held the role of senior vice president, market manager at Key Bank covering the Central New York region. He was responsible for managing the bank’s wealth management unit for high net worth clients in this capacity.

In addition, he also served in leadership roles such as managing director, market executive for the Boston, MA market and senior vice president, market leader for the Central New York market at US Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In this role, he managed revenue growth, strategic initiatives and building collaborative teams.
