Threadneedle Investments, a UK based wealth manager, has launched a US Contrarian Core Equities Fund for investors in Germany and Australia.
The Threadneedle (Lux) U.S. Contrarian Core Equities Fund is managed by Guy W Pope. He is a senior portfolio manager at Columbia Management, a sister company of Threadneedle under the umbrella of Ameriprise Financial, which manages assets of US$335 billion.

In the United States, most recently the economy had brightened considerably. The Threadneedle (Lux) U.S. Contrarian Core Equities Fund is managed using the same approach as the Columbia Management Contrarian Core Fund, which has a capacity of three billion dollars.
The management feels on high dividend growth stocks that have fallen out of favor with investors. It invests in large U.S. companies or companies that make the majority of their business in the USA.
Pope first identifies stocks that are in the lower third of the price range of the past 52 weeks. Subsequently, these shares are subject to a fundamental examination, where Pope can draw on the resources of the equity research team at Columbia Management.
At the end, the selection of undervalued growth stocks. For them, the portfolio is constructed with the aim of above-average returns with a balance of risk and reward.
