Asset manager TCW Group has expanded its legal and compliance functions by hiring Frank Gioia as a senior vice president and head of investment control as well as Dipo Ashiru as senior vice president and associate general counsel.
Gioia will join TCW’s compliance department and oversee the firm’s guideline monitoring efforts and work closely with operations, information technology, the trading desks and client services.

Based at the firm’s Los Angeles headquarters, he will report to Jeff Engelsman, global chief compliance officer. Gioia joined TCW from Charles River Development, where he worked as compliance product manager.
Ashiru will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters in his new role. Based in New York City, he will report to Meredith Jackson, TCW’s general counsel.
Prior to joining TCW, Ashiru worked with KKR as an adviser and senior counsel to the firm’s diversified private equity, credit and hedge funds platform.
