TCW Group, an asset management firm with $155bn in client assets, has hired Yuri Khalif as its new managing director.

Based in New York, Khalif will report to Alex McCulloch, managing director and head of retail distribution and marketing.

In his new role, Khalif will be responsible for focusing on marketing and client relations for registered investment advisors (RIAs), family offices and endowments & foundations in the Northeast.

Khalif joined TCW from Hatteras Funds, where he served as a partner and executive director.

Prior to this, he worked as an executive director in JP Morgan Asset Management’s institutional advisor business and also held senior sales and marketing roles at Deutsche Asset Management, Miller Anderson & Sherrerd, a subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, and SEI Corporation.

McCulloch said: "Yuri has an impressive understanding of both traditional and alternative investment solutions, making him an excellent resource for TCW’s private clients. He has forged close relationships throughout the marketplace over the course of his career, which will help us continue to strengthen our client interactions."
