Engelsman is based in Los Angeles and reports jointly to David Lippman, President and Chief Executive Officer of TCW, and Meredith Jackson, Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

Engelsman has nearly 20 years of experience in asset management compliance. He joins TCW from New York Life Investment Management, where he was most recently a managing director and chief compliance officer for more than 70 open-end and closed-end funds.

Prior to New York Life, he served as senior counsel to Deutsche Asset Management, where he oversaw mutual fund governance, offshore fund governance and 1940 Act regulatory matters.

"Jeff is a highly qualified individual with a strong track record running legal and compliance programs for large asset managers, and we are confident his extensive experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business globally," said Lippman.

Jackson added, "As the regulatory environment evolves both in the U.S. and around the world, Jeff brings a deep understanding of the issues, laws and regulations that face the asset management industry, and we are pleased to welcome him to TCW."
