Swiss banking group SYZ has named Sedar Piller as the new head of its Zurich office for independent asset managers.

Piller joined Banque SYZ in 2014. He previously had a 11-year stint at Neue Aargauer Bank, and also served at Bank J. Safra Sarasin.

Piller will be supported by Iwan Graf and Samuel Thebault at the Zurich office, which reported more than CHF600m in assets under management at the end of January 2018.

The independent asset management arm is headed by Jean-Marc Vallet, and had deposited assets of nearly CHF4bn at the end of 2017.

“Sedar Piller has quickly adopted our philosophy of developing partnerships with independent asset managers. In particular, he has convinced a large client base in Central Europe and Africa, whose requirements are very specific, to partner with SYZ Independent Asset Managers and he brings real added value to our partners with his skills,” Vallet stated.
