SYZ Asset Management has named Derek Borthwick as business development director for Scotland, the North of England and Northern Ireland.
In his new role, Borthwick will be responsible for promoting SYZ Asset Management’s capabilities in UK including segregated mandates as well as the SYZ AM and OYSTER funds.

Borthwick will report to Ian Penrose, UK distribution director.
Borthwick move will further expand SYZ Asset Management’s presence in the UK market.
Borthwick has joined SYZ Asset Management from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he served as vice president of sales and in charge of the distribution of their fund range to discretionary wealth managers, advisory IFAs, private banks and life insurers in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Prior to this, he worked for four years at Fidelity International as senior sales manager.
