The Investment Migration Council (IMC), the Switzerland-based Citizenship-by-investment industry standard setting body, has opened its first overseas stations outside of Geneva in Dubai.

IMC has appointed Citizenship Invest, a Dubai-based citizenship-by-investment firm, as its representative in the Middle East.

The IMC is a non-profit body acting as a regulator of immigration specialists it works to bring together the leading stakeholders in the field providing the industry a voice. The body sets the standards on a global level and interacts with other professional associations, governments and international organisations in relation to investment migration.

The IMC helps to improve public understanding of the issues faced by clients and governments in this area and promotes education and high professional standards among its members.

Commenting on the launch, IMC CEO Bruno L’ecuyer said: "Dubai is the first of our overseas stations outside of Geneva to open, from here we go to Hong Kong, London and New York by the end of 2015.

Veronica Cotdemiey, CEO of Citizenship Invest and the IMC’s regional co-ordinator, said: "We are honoured to have been appointed the representatives of IMC in the Middle East. I strongly believe that the IMC brings to the industry a regulatory structure which was long needed in order to have a more professional and honest framework which will primarily benefit citizenship applicants".
