American asset manager State Street has appointed Cara Brosnan in a newly created role of sector solutions head for Australia and Southeast Asia.

With more than 17 years of experience in the financial sector, Brosnan joins State Street from HSBC where she led insurance sector sales for its Securities Services unit in Asia Pacific.

In the new position, Brosnan will be responsible for managing sales of all State Street’s products and client sectors across the region.

She will operate out of Sydney and report to head of sector solutions for Asia-Pacific Jason Rich.

Commenting on the appointment of Cara Brosnan, Rich said that it will help in catering to increasing client demands.

Rich added: “Australia remains the world’s fourth-largest pension market valued at $1.9 trillion, experiencing the highest growth rate of pension fund assets in the world.

This year, State Street announced several top-level appointments to support its global operations.

In July this year, the asset manager named Jörg Ambrosius to lead its UK and EMEA operations. The company also appointed Francisco Aristeguieta as the new CEO of its international business in April.

At the beginning of this year, State Street appointed Ian Martin as the new head of its Asia-Pacific operations.
