State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) has expanded its SPDR range of ETFs by launching new European SPDR ETF called SPDR EURO STOXX Small Cap ETF.

Designed to provide exposure to European equities, the new ETF will offer investors with access to small companies across the euro zone and will start trading on the NYSE Arca on 5 June 2014.

The new ETF has been developed to diversify European exposure amid market recovery.

The SPDR EURO STOXX Small Cap ETF will track the performance of the EURO STOXX Small Index, which includes small capitalization companies in the EU countries.

James Ross, executive vice president and global head of SPDR exchange traded funds at SSgA, said: "With the launch of the SPDR EURO STOXX Small Cap ETF, investors will have an opportunity to diversify their European equity holdings while gaining exposure to small cap stocks, an asset class that tends to be highly correlated to the performance of local markets."
