State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the asset management arm of State Street Corporation, has hired David Saulnier as chief risk officer.

Saulnier, who joined State Street in 2008, was most recently chief risk officer for State Street’s investment servicing business in the Americas.

Prior to joining State Street, he worked for seven years with Pioneer Investment Management USA, where for seven years as director and head of risk management for all US operations, trading and portfolio management.

Earlier to this, Saulnier served as the director of Counterparty Risk at Harvard Management Company responsible for the creation and oversight of counterparty credit policies. He also worked as a commercial banker with Bank of America managing relationships within the real estate, medical and financial services industries.
