State Street has appointed Elizabeth Sok-Gek Chia as head of global services for Southeast Asia and Singapore branch manager.

Based in Singapore, she will be part of State Street’s Global Services (SSGS) team and will report to Ian Martin, senior vice-president and head of SSGS for South Asia and Pacific.

In her new role, Chia will be responsible for expanding its business with new and existing clients across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei and as a branch manager she will be responsible for ensuring effective governance for the Singapore office

Chia will be replacing Nick Wright as Singapore branch manager, who has shifted back to London as global services chief operating officer, EMEA.

Chia joins State Street from BNP Paribas Securities Services where she served as managing director and head of client development, asset owners and asset managers, Asia for over four years.

Prior to this, she was at DBS Bank as a managing director, heading global transaction services – securities services and also held key management positions with Deutsche Bank Asia-Pacific.

Martin said: "Chia brings immense experience in the Asian banking and asset management sectors to the role having held senior positions responsible for growing market share.
