London-based Stanhope Capital has appointed Charles Mesquita as new senior director for its charity team.

Mesquita, who holds a quarter of a century of investment experience with a focus on charities, will report to Stanhope’s head of charities Jamie Korner.

Mesquita most recently served at Standard Life Wealth, where he moved from Newton after Standard Life Wealth’s acquisition of Newton.

He was designated as head of business development for private clients at Newton.

Prior to this, he served at Rensburg Sheppards and founded and launched the Charities Property fund with Savills in 2000, which is the first common investment fund to invest in commercial property.

Apart from this, Mesquita, in collaboration with Farrers and haysmacintyre, also set up the first educational programme which helps assist charity trustees to keep aware about the issues of interest to the industry.
