Standish Mellon Asset Management Company, a US-based fixed income investment boutique of BNY Mellon, has hired Scott Zaleski to as new client portfolio manager.

In his new role, Zaleski with will represent Standish and its products, product development and business development for global multi-sector investment strategies, particularly on Standish’s opportunistic fixed income strategies.

Zaleski will report jointly to Michael Faloon, chief operating officer of Standish, and David Leduc, Standish’s chief investment officer.

Zaleski has joined Standish from The Flatley Company, where he worked as a senior portfolio manager. Prior to this, he worked as a portfolio manager for Wellington Management Company and also with Putnam Investments, State Street Global Advisors and Fidelity Investments.

Leduc said: "Multi-sector strategies and opportunistic fixed income strategies in particular, are becoming an increasingly important part of fixed income portfolios as opportunities and risks are rapidly changing in the current interest rate environment."

Standish currently manages approximately US$1.9 billion in opportunistic fixed income strategies.
