Standard Chartered has appointed Mike Garcia as the head of Hong Kong equities sales trading, and Jamie White as director of equities sales trading.

Garcia has more than 15 years of experience in sales and trading. Prior to joining the bank, he was head of Hong Kong sales trading at Barclays Capital. In his career, Garcia has been associated with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, ITG Securities, Macquarie Bank and Kim Eng Securities.

White also joins Standard Chartered from Barclays Capital, where he was most recently director, equity sales trading. Prior to Barclays Capital, he held similar role at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Both Garcia and White will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Richard Stone, global head of equities sales trading. The appointments are in-line with the company’s strategy to meet the needs of its clients and expand its capabilities.
