Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed Stephen So as head of investment advisory for North East Asia, effective immediately.

In his new role, So will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Gary Tiernan, global head, investment advisory and client segment management, Private Bank, and Desmond Liu, managing director/ head of Private Bank for Hong Kong and North East Asia.

So joins Standard Chartered Private Bank after 18 years at Société Générale where he held various management roles covering product development, sales and marketing across the private banking as well as corporate and investment banking divisions.

In private banking, he was regional head of structured solutions, responsible for structuring, advisory and delivery of structured products to private banking clients. Prior to that, he had worked at Barclays and Merrill Lynch.

So will add greater expertise and insights to a talented advisory team, who with the support of a network of global banking expertise, will help develop comprehensive investment strategies for the Private Bank’s clients in core footprint markets at a time where rapid development is driving private wealth growth significantly.
